A leading Mufti in Saudi Arabia was brought to tears on live tv when he received a question from Somalia:
“Is my fast accepted if we have no Suhoor or Iftaar?”Ya Allah, if there’s anything beyond my means that I could do..
This brought me to tears.
It’s official, tomorrow is the first day of the holy month of Ramadan. While some of us in the US (including myself) have been complaining about how late iftar will be this year we should remember that we are blessed to have food to eat for iftar. Some do not have that privilege.
During this holy month please remember our brothers and sisters in Syria who are fighting and dying for their lives. InshAllah this Ramadan will bring them the blessing that they have been waiting for. Let us remember our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and all over the world. Let us remember our brothers and sisters who are our own neighbors in the countries that we live in.
Ramadan Kareem to all. InshAllah we all grow and become better Muslims this year.
